Are you curious about becoming a teaching assistant with our Pablove Shutterbugs photography program? Learn more about being part of our team:

Pablove Shutterbugs Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistants work with smaller groups of students on age-appropriate photography activities during class and are supervised and trained by the Teaching Artist.

Your primary role is to support the Teaching Artist in a multitude of ways. The full class of students (up to 15 children age 6-18) will be divided into three smaller groups for activities according to student age, with each group led by a different Teaching Assistant. It will be your job to work closely with the kids in your age group using age appropriate language and techniques and to answer any questions that they may have. Some previous experience in photography is required, professional experience being a plus. Administrative duties such as downloading student photos, taking attendance, checking in with families, and end-of-day cleanup, will also be the responsibility of Teaching Assistants.

Previous working experience with children in arts education is a plus, but most important is an enthusiastic and positive attitude while working with the students. One Teaching Assistant should also be available to travel to the hospital and conduct bedside lessons if a student is undergoing treatment or not feeling well enough to attend class. Bilingual skills is also a plus. All volunteers will undergo a background check. This is open to all ages/backgrounds, but is a great opportunity for students looking to fulfill service hours or gain hands-on experience in a classroom environment!

We are especially in need of TA’s in the following cities this fall:
