Pablove Shutterbugs get wild!
As summer turns to fall, Pablove Shutterbugs across the country are undergoing their own transformation…into photographers! Our first group of students will celebrate completion of their Pablove Shutterbugs 5-week course this weekend in New Orleans. Here’s a look back at one of the highlights of the session–the documentary field trip to the Audubon Zoo!
Our 14 students learned to document an experience through the field trip, and were challenged to create a series of images that related to one another.
By documenting their new furry friends and capturing key moments in time, students learned the power of storytelling through the lens of their camera and by interpreting their environment.
Our New Orleans Teaching Artist, Olivia Grey Pritchard, passed along this fun report after the field trip:
Our students continue to BLOW ME AWAY with what they remember and retain from each lesson. A few of our older children became especially engaged when we discussed depth of field–the idea of things in the background being “fuzzy.”
We can’t wait to celebrate with this class of Pablove Shutterbugs graduates at our upcoming New Orleans Gallery Show! Stay tuned for more updates throughout the fall as our LIVESTRONG Foundation-supported classes wrap up in 14 more cities nationwide.
