pablove shutterbugs – san francisco

The Pablove Foundation is thrilled to offer classes in the San Francisco Bay Area!

Introduction to photography

This course is designed to provide distraction and increase focus for kids currently undergoing treatment.

The introduction to photography course is an out-of-hospital program offered to patients ages 6-18. On the first day of class, each student receives their own digital camera kit, which is theirs to keep after the program ends. Students learn key photography concepts including: perspective, light and shadow, and storytelling as a form of self-expression. This program culminates with a gallery show where the community celebrates their accomplishments in a professional gallery setting.

Intermediate

This course is designed to build peer relationships and deepen understanding of art and nature through photography.

The intermediate course is a four-day overnight summer camp located in Southern California. This camp is designed for alumni who have participated in our introductory course, and it is open to all Shutterbugs across the country. In concepts, students enjoy camp activities such as swimming, nature walks, and making friendships that last a lifetime! Click here to learn more.

Teaching Artists

The teaching artist is responsible for leading our photography courses for youth ages 6-18 in their respective cities. They have a strong background in photography and know the ins and outs of teaching children and teens living with cancer.
