Dr. David Walterhouse is the Oncology Section Head at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and is an Associate Professor at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He serves on the Soft Tissue Sarcoma Committee of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), on the COG Soft Tissue Sarcoma Steering Committee, on the COG Scientific Council, and served as COG study chair for ARST0331 (a phase III group-wide study for low-risk
rhabdomyosarcoma), and vice-chair for COG/IRSG D9602 (the predecessor phase III group-wide study for low-risk rhabdomyosarcoma). He runs a basic science research laboratory, studying the interface of developmental biology and pediatric oncology. The laboratory work focuses on understanding the function and regulation of the human oncogene GLI1 during development and in a variety of cancers, including rhabdomyosarcoma.
