Title: Development and Event Specialist
Reports to: CEO

This position will act as a key driver and connector between departments, communicating between stakeholders to spearhead and implement new ideas for revenue and community growth. The individual in this role works on projects, events, and activities to attract new donors and retaining existing ones, building and putting into play innovative and effective fundraising, stewardship, and marketing/PR tactics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will have the following responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Fundraising
    • Identify and recruit new media and corporate partners/sponsors for events + programs
    • Spearhead assigned event production - including events outside of LA - and associated timeline and implementation of marketing/development projects, working closely with Pablove Sports and Shutterbugs staff for Shutterbugs Gallery Shows
  • Stewardship
    • Enjoy hands-on donor cultivation/stewardship and outreach into new audiences and assume responsibility for timely and effective completion
    • Ideate fresh tactics for Pablove’s community-building and word-of-mouth
  • Marketing
    • Assist the Social Media and Content Specialist with graphic design needs and collateral creation (Mailchimp emails/social graphics/website banners) that reinforce brand identity and strengthen Pablove’s voice in the nonprofit landscape.
    • Provide PR support to strengthen Pablove’s reach via storytelling across digital + print
  • Other tasks as assigned

EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing or related field
  • 2+ years’ work experience in nonprofit organizations, with track record of fundraising/development, marketing/PR, and/or graphic design/branding
  • Experience with InDesign and/or Illustrator or Photoshop
  • 2+ years’ work experience designing mass communications and publishing email campaigns (Mailchimp preferred) with an understanding of list segmentation, results-driven messaging and campaign analysis/reporting
  • Efficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Suites or similar product suite

EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

  • Strong project management and follow-up skills — incredibly organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Successful completion of design and implementation of creative donor/customer outreach campaigns
  • Ability to be effective in scrappy environments (innovative, making things work, collaborative, effective), as well as work efficiently as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and ask questions
  • High integrity combined with tact and people skills
  • Experience working with design programs and marketing/communication tools
