Human Resources and Operations Manager

Pablove HQ is located in a charming, historic 1920’s Spanish revival building in the heart of Hollywood. Our space is home to a team of dedicated, creative professionals who are working to change the world.

Pablove is looking for a Human Resources and Operations Manager to join our hard working, mission-driven team. Pablove’s crew, culture, and environment are the heartbeat of our organization. We work collaboratively to achieve Pablove’s strategic plan, culture of philanthropy, and vision: helping kids with cancer live – a love-filled life today, and a cancer-free life tomorrow.  

This new position will play a key role in helping Pablove reach our strategic goals by ensuring that our human resources and operations play a key role in achieving our plans for growth and impact. We are looking for an experienced, creative, and smart addition who will ensure Pablove’s overall effectiveness by providing oversight of resources and programs aimed to support our diverse, talented and growing staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the COO, and overseeing the Office Coordinator, the Human Resources and Operations Manager will have the following responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Human Resources

  • Partner with Executive Leadership to create a substantial human resource strategy using Pablove’s organizational values and align the strategy to help the foundation meet its goals. Map out talent planning, recruitment, and retention.  
  • Build an HR analytics system and use data to transform our ability to connect with, manage people, and inform strategy.
  • Strengthen Pablove’s on-boarding program, from recruitment (first contact) to transitioning new staff into valued contributors of the Pablove team.
  • Administer new framework for performance management; deploy policies and processes for staff performance assessments.
  • Create programs that will help staff learn and grow. Develop both necessary compliance trainings along with professional development opportunities that strengthen the career trajectory of our people.
  • Manage and administer a suite of employee benefits including, but not limited to health insurance, vision, dental, 403b savings, and FSA.
  • Support and strengthen termination and resignation processes including exit interviews.
  • Risk + Compliance: Stay ahead of employment trends and laws to ensure that Pablove is following new regulations in both HR, Operations/Facilities, and Programs. Identify risks, report and collaborate with staff to mitigate risks from materializing.
  • Employee Relations/Legal: Advise Executive and Leadership teams on policies and protocols for fair, equitable, and consistent dealings with staff. Work with legal advisors to apply employment law and regulations.
  • Work closely with COO and Finance Director to evaluate costs associated with facilities, people, and technology.
  • Advise Executive and Leadership teams on status of HR and Operations and work closely with the COO to develop and carry out initiatives that strengthen Pablove’s culture.

Office Management and Operations

  • Oversee our building, which is also a key part of Pablove’s organizational identity. Utilize the building as an asset for our strategic plan and resource development.
  • Manage and care for our facility by overseeing creative space planning, and facility maintenance. Oversee relationship with and liaise with property management company on lease terms and requests. Develop a strong relationship with our neighbors and fellow tenants.
  • Ensure that our space is used as a resource to strengthen the foundation’s values and our collaborative, creative, and agile culture.
  • Oversee the Office Coordinator who is responsible for carrying out our office operations workflow and maintenance of the building.
  • Work with IT contractors and collaborate with Data Manager to ensure that the foundation’s technology meets the needs of our staff.
  • Risk + Compliance: create, implement, and communicate policies and procedures for a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Oversee operational needs and staffing as we grow beyond Los Angeles and into expansion cities across the United States.

MUST HAVES

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in Human Resources and 3 years of office management preferred
  • Boundless resilience and strong communication skills. Ability to manage heavy workloads in a fast-paced environment
  • Impeccable organizational skills and belief that solid internal systems serve to help people achieve their goals
